As the old saying goes “If you can’t dazzle them with your brilliance, baffle them with your bulls%it.” And no one is a greater master at this than Donald Trump. He manages to baffle both his opponents and his supporters at the same time, particularly with his use of Twitter.
He takes credit for saving jobs that were announced months, in some cases years, before he became President
He turns on the staunchest Republicans in the House when HE FAILS to even get Obamacare Lite to the floor for a vote. This one, in particular, puzzled many of his most devoted supporters. “Fight” Republicans? What kind of Republican president is this?
He even singles out individual members for blame, in perhaps his greatest violation of Ronald Reagan’s 11th Commandment “Thou shalt not speak ill of other Republicans.”
He has subsequently threatened to work WITH the Democrats to get his healthcare reform legislation passed. Which is quite baffling to the Democrats in Congress. Why would they work with Donald Trump to dismantle their signature piece of legislation?
Then, one of his top aides, in a blatant violation of the Hatch Act, called for the defeat of a sitting Republican who did not support Trump’s healthcare bill.
His BS also includes promoting the most outrageous lies, anything to deflect from the real crises his administration are facing. When confronted with facts, his response varies from “I’ll look into that” to “I’m only saying what was in the newspapers” (generally referring to The National Enquirer)
His recent interview with Time Magazine, who headlined that issue with the title “Is Truth Dead?” was a revealing insight into his rambling thought processes, combining BS, braggadocio, lies, and evasions. The truth didn’t matter for Trump because, as he told the reporter, “I can’t be doing so badly, because I’m President and you’re not.”
Each day it becomes more and more evident to the American people, and the rest of the world, that Trump cannot separate truth from lies. He cannot tell the difference between friend and foe. He cannot govern because he is still campaigning.
And worst of all, he really believes that his bulls%it is brilliant
