ICYMI News Roundup @ EatPrayVote.org: Feb 3rd – 5th

By Bobby M.

In case you missed any of the news from February 3rd through the 5th, here is a brief recap regarding much of what happened. Not everything will have a hyperlink, so if you would like more information, please highlight and google it.

The news for Super Bowl weekend was dominated by two main themes. First there was still Trump’s unconstitutional Muslim travel ban. On Friday, a federal judge from the state of Washington stopped the implementation of the ban. This led to not only an attempt by the Trump administration to try and get the Department of Justice to appeal, but the president throwing a juvenile tirade on Twitter over his executive order being blocked. By the way, the Appeals court stopped the Justice Department’s request. The other big news theme for the weekend was obviously Super Bowl LI. The New England Patriots overcame a 25 point deficit (largest in Super Bowl history) to defeat the Atlanta Falcons. From that deficit, 19 points were in the 4th quarter and led to overtime, which was also a first in Super Bowl history. Lady Gaga also put on a heck of a show during the halftime of the game, while the commercials provided a lot of social media uproar with their political overtones. The rest of what is listed below may have been harder to hear about…
