It’s Time To Get Honest

I really hate to beat a dead horse, but in the case of Donald Trump I’ll beat, kick and spit on it. I know this question has been tossed back and forth in countless articles. I know conservatives have wrangled with this question from all across this great country day in and day out for months. They will ask themselves this question on one of the most beloved holidays in our nation, Independence Day. July the 4th, 1776. This is not an easy question to ask yourself by any stretch of the imagination. When you are faced with arguably the two worst Presidential candidates to ever grace this platform in modern political history, the feeling you get in your gut can be so restrictive it’s hard to breath.

I have to be honest. I’ve turned to Christ Jesus in Prayer, and to my Parish Priest to discuss this question. I’m pro-life across the board, and I have fought for all life sacred to God for twenty five of my forty five years here on this wonderful world that the Lord above gave us. I watched the other day as the Supreme Court ruled 5–3 against our case here in Texas that we all in the pro-life community have fought long and hard for only to have it stuck down. Was I disheartened? Yes. Am I ever going to give up the fight for the unborn and for those that are being put to death that I know in my heart are innocent? Never. I know I’m going off on a bit of a tangent here, but bare with me.

The question: is Donald Trump pro-life? The answer is, unfortunately, no. Would he appoint Supreme Court Justices that would uphold and stand for the value of life? I don’t believe in my heart that he would. So, that begs the question, would Hillary Clinton do any better? No, I’m sure she wouldn’t. But, we might be able to put ourselves in a better position if we all said the hell with the White House and focused on saving Congress. Or, at the very least, saving the house and keeping some checks and balances on a Hillary Clinton White House; if it comes to that. I Pray that it doesn’t, but I will tell you the honest truth where most most fear to tread. There is an 80% chance that Hillary Clinton will be our next President, and like it or not, that’s the hard truth. We can either try and work with her, and her administration, or we can play the role that many of the Republicans have played with Obama over the last eight years and get no where.

There are so many things about Donald Trump that scare the living bejesus outta me I’ve lost count. There is an old Catholic adage: An error in the beginning, is an error in indeed. This could never be more true with the way the GOP has handled Trump and where we sit today. Is Hillary Clinton better than Donald Trump? No, they’re one in the same.

When it comes to running the Nation, and being the leader of the free world I will make no apologies to say that Hillary Clinton is far better suited (no pun) to handle the day to day activities that a President must handle. I trust Hillary to keep this Country out of war, and out of trade wars. I can’t say that about Donald Trump. I fear an entire electorate has been duped by Trump and his ilk. This is no time for games. No matter how much we hate the Clinton’s this is about the safety of our Nation, and those that will come after us.

This is not an easy choice, but I will take the woman over the child.
